Robert F. Bornstein and Mary A. Languirand received their PhDs in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in the mid-1980s, and since that time they have collaborated on numerous research and teaching projects. They co-authored the award-winning book When Someone You Love Needs Nursing Home Care (Newmarket Press, 2001), along with several scientific papers on personality diagnosis, assessment, and treatment. Their most recent book is Healthy Dependency: Leaning On Others Without Losing Yourself (Newmarket Press, 2003). Drs. Bornstein and Languirand, who married in 1990, are both licensed psychologists, and they live and work in Gettysburg, PA.
